HOW THE DOUGHNUT 5K WORKS:
A 5K running race where you are rewarded for eating doughnuts!
During the run you will have the opportunity to eat doughnuts at the aid stations. You must eat the doughnuts at the aid stations (i.e. you cannot run with them). For every doughnut you eat you will have time subtracted from your running time. You don't have to eat any doughnuts if you don't want to! If you choose to eat them, please note that as extra encouragement to keep them down, a 2-minute penalty will be added for doughnut regurgitation.
The course start line is at the southern tip of Northwestern University's lakefill. Park anywhere on campus (the SPAC parking lot is roughly one mile from the race start line) and simply head east until you see Lake Michigan.
All runners will receive free products from our sponsors! Additional prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female runners!
Proceeds from the race go towards the Northwestern Triathlon Club and World Bicycle Relief. We use the funds to help pay for travel expenses for USAT Nationals and other races during our spring/summer season. Also, with the funds we raise, we donate one bicycle to WBR. Find out more about WBR here.
[Please note that registration on Race-day is $5 more.]
